Accidentally discovered, this is now my favorite people watching pastime:
Restaurant has 2 sets of double door kitty-corner to each other, the closest to me is locked. I was sitting back, relaxing with a beer, facing the entrance, when a girl came up to the locked doors and went ape shit on them trying to get in before stepping back to see the other entryway.
After that, I looked out for people coming in to see if they went to the locked doors and how long and vigorously they would try to get in before looking for an alternative entrance.
One guy shook the handle for a good 10 seconds, turned around and walked away. He got to the street curb before he came back for another go.
I didn’t think about it at the time because the door was locked from the inside as well as out, but I wonder if any of those people saw me and we’re expecting me to get up to let them in. Oh well!
