Dutch Baby

Edibles

My baby is gorgeous! I am referring to, in this circumstance, the Dutch Baby that I finally learned to make (and yes, the correct pan -cast iron- makes a difference, and this dish is actually German).

This was my favorite dish at a locally owned breakfast-specialty restaurant that my parents would take me to every now and then, and I haven’t seen it on the menu any where else since.

While I like breakfast foods, I’m not a big fan of going out for this meal. Eggs, pancakes, toast, waffles…yawn. If I’m going to pay $10 for a dish, impress me! I’m not interested in something I could put together myself for a dollar’s worth of ingredients and basically no effort. Likewise, I also never order grilled cheese, spaghetti, mac & cheese, or hot dogs. Just can’t do it. Omelets can sometimes intrigue me, crepes are usually respectable, but the Dutch Baby is always a worthy contender.

Kudos to thekitchn.com for the great recipe!
